Citrus Fresh Essential Oil

When I was growing up, one of my favorite rides at Disney’s California Adventure was “Soarin’ over California” because of the delicious citrus smell misted on the riders. The amazing, delightful smell of Citrus Fresh always takes me back to those wonderful memories of family summertime—all of us together, laughing and having fun!

In August, Young Living’s Citrus Fresh essential oil blend is available at the 190 ER points level of our PV promo. Get yours today and give your summer memories a scent to be remembered by!

Citrus Fresh is a blend of six essential oils, five citrus oils, and one mint oil: Orange, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, and Spearmint. This blend has an uplifting, refreshing aroma and the recurring constituent of limonene from the many different citrus essential oils, as well as carvone from Spearmint.

I love to use Citrus Fresh around my home in so many ways!

My favorite is to diffuse it, especially in the morning for the energizing atmosphere; it is the perfect oil to diffuse when I get out of the shower and am getting ready for work in the morning!

My husband just finished remodeling our kitchen, and it looks amazing! I’ve been keeping it looking fresh and smelling wonderful with “Thieves Fresh Cleaner,” which is 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner, 8 drops of Citrus Fresh, 2 drops of Jade Lemon, and 1 cup of Olive Oil. I use it on the cabinets, backsplash, and countertops.

I also use Citrus Fresh in other areas of my home with a “So Fresh and So Clean, Clean” Mirror and Glass Cleaner, made from 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner, 3 drops of Citrus Fresh, 2 drops of Jade Lemon, 1 teaspoon of white vinegar, and 3 cups of water combined in a spray bottle.

Finally, I love to add a couple drops of Lemon essential oil and Citrus Fresh to some distilled water in a spray bottle and spritz my hair before a pool day to add some sun-kissed highlights to my hair.

I love that the scent of Citrus Fresh gives me a daily reminder of the great memories of my family and of reminiscing about the laughter and silly jokes between my sisters and me. That is another amazing benefit of essential oils! They can take us back to some wonderful memories through the sense of smell. What memory does Citrus Fresh remind you of? What new memories will you make while diffusing it this August?

My little girl LOVES play dough– it is a great sensory activity that can help develop fine motor skills, imagination, hand-eye coordination, and creativity. It is so important that we are exposing our children to activities that involve ALL our senses which is why I LOVE the idea of homemade scented play dough. Eden is two and we have been trying to teach her how to smell different objects– I cant wait to try this recipe with her!
Homemade Scented Play Dough
2 cups flour
½ cup salt
2 TBLS Fractionated Coconut Oil
about 1½ cups boiling water
2 TBLS cream of rartar
Citrus Fresh Essential Oil
Natural food coloring (optional)
Combine flour, salt, fractionated coconut oil, and cream of tartar into large bowl. Mix.
Slowly add your natural food coloring to the boiling water.
Combine the boiling water slowly into the mixture of dry ingredients
Stir until it becomes sticky and dough-like.
Add in about 15-20 drops (or desired amount, add until you like the strength of the scent) of Citrus Fresh essential oil to the dough mixture.
Let dough cool and then quickly knead until all the stickiness is gone– you can always add more flour if it is too sticky. Knead until you have the desired consistency, and your playdough is ready to enjoy!
Store in an airtight container.
Have fun with this one! Have you made scented play dough before? What was your favorite oil mixture?
