PanAway Essential Oil for Muscle Discomfort After Exercise
PanAway is the perfect blend of essential oils that was specifically designed for muscle discomfort following exercise.
It contains naturally occurring constituents methyl salicylate, gamma-curcumene, menthol, and eugenol.
It is an ideal choice for supporting and soothing muscles after exercise. I like to use it in combination with OrthoSport, Cool Azul Gel or Cool Azul Cream; especially in conjunction with massage.
PanAway is definitely one of my favorite essential oil blends. And I don’t leave home without it. I also love the refreshing smell and the cooling sensation it has on the skin.

What is in PanAway Essential Oil?
- Wintergreen Essential Oil (Gaultheria procumbens) has a sweet, minty scent. The oil is distilled from the small evergreen herb’s leaves. The refreshing, clean taste of wintergreen has made it a favorite in flavoring numerous products.
- Helichrysum Essential Oil (Helichrysum italicum) known for its restorative properties.
- Clove Essential Oil (Syzygium aromaticum) helps to supprt healthy immune system. An important ingredient in Young Living’s Thieves blend, its principal constituent is eugenol.
- Peppermint Essential Oil (Mentha piperita) Fresh, nostalgic, and instantly recognizable, Peppermint essential oil’s scent invigorates the mind and senses, while inspiring a sense of peace. Used topically, Peppermint oil creates a cool, tingling sensation on the skin, making it a favorite for sports massage and an important part of Young Living’s Raindrop Technique®. Peppermint is a key ingredient in PanAway®, AromaEase®, Aroma Siez™, Relieve It™, and Deep Relief™ Roll-On essential oil blends.
Ways To Use Panaway Essential Oil
PanAway® has a stimulating aroma and is a popular and original combination of Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove, and Peppermint essential oils formulated by D. Gary Young. This blend is ideal to apply topically after exercise, and supports the appearance of healthy skin coloration.
Wake-up Refreshed: Rub on chest to wake up in the morning.
In a Bath: Add 5-6 drops to a bowl with 1-2 cups of epsom salts in a bath tub to support muscle relief.
Post Workout: apply topically after a workout for muscle relief and cooling
Back Rub: Mix with a carrier oil of choice for a refreshing massage to support muscle discomfort.
Meditation: Rub on your shoulders and neck a to increase awareness during meditation.
In the car: The crisp aroma of peppermint and wintergreen can be refreshing and energizing while driving. Place a few drops on a cotton ball and press into a vent or use a car plug in diffuser to help maintain alertness
In a Diffuser: The uplifting and fresh scent is always a hit with my family and friends.
Feet rub: massage on feet for relaxation after a long day or exercise.
