Frankincense Essential Oil Uses
Frankincense is sourced from the resin of the Boswellia carterii or Boswellia sacara tree that’s commonly grown in Somalia. This tree is different from many others in that it can grow with very little soil in dry and desolate conditions. Frankincense has religious history and mentioned multiple times in the Bible, as it was one of the first gifts given to Jesus by the wise men.
Studies have shown that when inhaled, frankincense has been shown to reduce heart rate and high blood pressure. It may have anti-anxiety reducing abilities, but unlike prescription medications it does not have negative side effects and does not cause unwanted drowsiness.
Studies have demonstrated that frankincense has immune enhancing abilities which may help destroy dangerous bacteria and viruses. It can be used to prevent germs from forming on the skin, mouth, or in your home too. This is the reason many people choose to use frankincense of naturally relieving oral health problems; the antiseptic qualities of this oil can help prevent toothaches, mouth sores, and other dental problems from occurring. In addition studies have shown that frankincense can be beneficial for digestive health, hormone support and even pain management.

Frankincense Oil Recipes
Soothing Face Mask
This mask helps to protect against impurities while leaving your skin soft.
- 2 tablespoons bentonite clay
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon of raw honey
- 3 drops of frankincense oil
- 2 drops of lavender
Mix everything together. Add a little water if necessary. Apply to your face and leave on for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Rinse gently with warm water and follow up with a moisturizer such s organic coconut oil. Works best when face has been recently gently exfoliated.
